Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Sears and Macys would reportedly open as early as midnight on the start of Black Friday in localized areas and remain open for 24 hours throughout the day until midnight the following Saturday. For other areas and other retailers, the usual time to open is around 5 a.m.
Electronics and toys are projected to be the most sought after items this year, and will be offered at sharp discounts in many retail stores.
For those who stay home and avoid the mass hysteria, Ebay continues to be a top shopping avenue. Other great gift ideas, with great prices online, are etsy.com, amazon, and Overstock.com.
